The Boduthakurufaanu Magu North Side development project in Malé is progressing steadily, with stormwater and road works now at the halfway mark, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) confirmed.
The stormwater system is 50% complete, with catchpits, settlement tanks, and pipes installed. Subgrade work on the carriageway and sidewalk compaction is ongoing, and cable trench installation is also 50% done. Service line works will start later this week.
The project will widen roads, improve pedestrian access, and reduce flooding during heavy rain. The upgrades aim to make Malé’s roads safer, more resilient, and easier to navigate.
MTCC said the project underscores its commitment to modernizing Malé’s infrastructure and improving daily life for residents.
