The Boduthakurufaanu North Side Road Development Project in Malé has achieved 50% completion of quay wall capping for Segment 1, boosting the city’s infrastructure.
The project, managed by local authorities, is transforming Malé City’s road network. Workers have completed half of the quay wall capping concrete for Segment 1 and are progressing on the storm water management system. They have laid the outfall pipe and are constructing the pumping station.
The upgrade will widen roads, improve pedestrian access, and ease traffic congestion. The new storm water drainage system will reduce flooding during heavy rain, ensuring safer streets for residents and commuters.
The initiative, valued at millions, directly benefits Malé residents, commuters, and businesses. It aims to enhance accessibility, modernise infrastructure, and increase urban resilience. Construction continues this year, with authorities monitoring progress closely to meet safety and quality standards.
