First Lady Sajidhaa Mohamed inaugurated the licensing software for the Health Establishment Management System (HEMS) during the official ceremony of World Patient Safety Day 2025.
The software is designed to facilitate inspections of registered health service providers and professionals.
She also launched the JCI Patient Safety Champions Training Programme, part of a broader initiative to ensure patients receive safe and compassionate care.
A panel discussion was held on the theme “Safe care for every newborn and every child,” under the slogan “Patient safety from the start!”
The ceremony was attended by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim and senior officials from the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Maldives. World Patient Safety Day has been observed annually on 17 September since 2019.
