President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has condemned Israel’s attack on Qatar, calling it a violation of sovereignty and a crime against all muslim nations.
Speaking at the emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha, he said the assault was not only against Qatar but also an affront to all Arab and Islamic nations. He stressed that Qatar should be recognized for its mediation efforts in the Gaza conflict, not targeted.
Muizzu accused Israel of obstructing peace, destabilizing the region, and committing crimes including the occupation of Palestinian land, blocking aid, and targeting civilians and journalists.
He urged political, economic, and diplomatic measures to hold Israeli leaders accountable, while calling for immediate humanitarian aid to Gaza and the West Bank.
The President reaffirmed Maldives’ support for Qatar, saying no Islamic nation should face aggression in isolation.
