Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) marked its 39th anniversary today with events honoring the company’s history and employees.
The day started with a cake-cutting ceremony at MPL’s head office. CEO DCP (Retired) Mohamed Rishwan joined management officials and staff for the celebration. Later, MPL hosted a breakfast for workers in the Malé Commercial Harbor area, including port staff, lorry drivers, and heads of clearing groups.
MPL opened its operations at the Malé Commercial Harbor on September 15, 1986, as the Maldives Ports Authority. The company changed its name to Maldives Ports Limited in 2008. Since then, it has continued to provide essential port services to the nation.
