Nearly all individuals stopped by Malé Police in August were found to have prior criminal records, according to official statistics.

From August 1–31, police conducted 26,674 location checks and set up 127 vehicle checkpoints. During this period, 5,581 people were stopped, of whom 5,373 had criminal records while 208 had none.

Police also recovered 90 motorcycles, 19 mobile phones, four electronic devices, and MVR 329,350. Four foreign nationals were handed over to Immigration authorities.

In addition, officers carried out 900 community interactions, resolving 102 issues. Of the public reports received, 54 were non-criminal, while 35 involved criminal matters.
