The Weeknd Releases ‘Closing Night’ to Mark Tour Finale.

On September 3, 2025, The Weeknd officially closed out his  ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ Tour with a final show at the Alamodome in San Antonio, drawing a crowd of over 43,000 fans. To mark the tour’s conclusion, he released  his new album on YouTube a song that serves as both a reflection on the tour and the finale to his After Hours trilogy.

The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours Tour’ has now been on the road for three years, kicking off in July 2022. Originally set to begin in 2020, The After Hours Tour was postponed due to the global health crisis, just as The Weeknd was reaching new heights in his career. The unexpected combination of a pandemic and a surge in popularity led to a complete reimagining of the tour.

What began as a modest arena run quickly expanded into a massive stadium production. The result was a record-setting global tour comprising 110 shows, marking one of the most ambitious undertakings in modern pop music.

While the lyrics of Closing Night may echo themes from Opening Night, an earlier track on the album, its composition takes a distinctly different approach. Unlike the ballad, which reflects on destructive habits within a toxic relationship, Closing Night shifts focus calling out a partner for being too absorbed in her phone and disconnected from the reality of their relationship.

If Closing Night is the final act, then it’s a bold statement capping off a tour that shattered expectations and redefined success.
