Asphalt paving on Boduthakurufaanu Magu is set to begin next week as the road redevelopment project enters a new phase, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced.
MTCC said machinery required for the asphalt work has already been mobilised, while sub-base work on segments 4 and 5 is scheduled to begin tomorrow. The road’s Aggregate Base Course (ABC) will also commence next week, paving the way for asphalt surfacing.
The company added that installation of the remaining sheet piles, road beautification works, safety improvements and parking curbstones are progressing steadily. Final capping concrete works on the seawall are also expected to begin next week.
The Boduthakurufaanu Magu redevelopment project aims to ease traffic congestion and improve road infrastructure in Malé City, with MTCC working to complete the project within the scheduled timeframe.
