World Food Safety Day was officially marked in F. Nilandhoo this year with awareness activities focused on promoting safe food practices.

The event was organised by the Health Ministry under this year’s theme, “From Burden to Solution – Safe Food Everywhere.” First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, Nilandhoo MP Fathimath Saudha and senior health officials attended the ceremony.

During the event, the Maldives Food and Drug Authority unveiled its new logo and launched the “Summaavar” programme aimed at educating food service operators.

A range of awareness activities were also held, including door-to-door campaigns on safe food preparation and a special school assembly focused on food safety.

According to the MFDA, ensuring food safety is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation from producers, traders and consumers alike.
