The Maldives has signed seven MoUs with Sri Lanka during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s State Visit.
The agreements were exchanged in Colombo to strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. Key areas include tourism, archiving and teacher training, aimed at enhancing collaboration between institutions of both countries.
Additional MoUs cover sports and youth development, as well as counter-terrorism cooperation between defence bodies. Further agreements were also signed in the academic sector, including partnerships with Kotelawala Defence University and the University of Colombo.
Officials said the agreements reflect efforts to deepen ties and expand cooperation between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
