Iran Accuses U.S. of ‘Maritime Piracy’ After Ship Seizure

Iran has accused the United States of attacking and seizing one of its commercial ships in the Gulf of Oman, calling the incident “maritime piracy.”

According to Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, U.S. forces fired on the vessel, disabled its navigation system, and boarded it.

The ship was reportedly en route from China to Iran.

Tehran has vowed to retaliate soon, warning that its armed forces will respond to what it described as an “armed robbery” and a violation of the ceasefire.

Iranian officials also claim their forces carried out drone attacks on U.S. military ships following the incident.

Tensions are now rising rapidly, with both sides accusing each other of escalation.
