Govt to Respect Sports Decisions

Youth Minister Abdulla Rafiu said the administration will work closely with the Maldives Olympic Committee and national associations while maintaining their independence.

He stressed that no sport will be prioritised over another, with equal opportunities ensured for all athletes. Participation in international events will continue to expand through collaboration with relevant bodies.

Officials said sports associations remain responsible for deciding participation and selecting athletes, while the ministry maintains a neutral role.
