Ahmed Riyaz has been elected President of the Fonadhoo Council in the local elections.

Riyaz secured over 900 votes, defeating Ibrahim Ahmed, who received 467 votes. In the WDC election, PNC candidate Aishath Rishma has been elected as chair with 889 votes.

Nationwide, 214,898 people voted in the elections out of 253,714 eligible voters, according to the Elections Commission.
