President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Ahmed Mohamed as Commissioner of the Maldives Police Service.
The appointment follows the retirement of former Commissioner Ismail Naveen and concludes a selection process involving three senior officers.
Ahmed Mohamed has served in the police force since 1995 and brings over three decades of experience. He has held key roles across operational and investigative departments.
He has also completed professional training in India and holds academic qualifications in Sharia from Villa College.
The new Commissioner has pledged to ensure public safety and maintain trust in the police service.
