Velana International Airport (VIA) has celebrated the 30th anniversary of Austrian Airlines’ operations to the Maldives, highlighting a long-standing connection between the two countries.
To mark the occasion, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) presented gifts to over 300 departing passengers traveling on Austrian Airlines.
In addition, 328 passengers arriving from the UAE were welcomed with a vibrant cultural reception at VIA, featuring traditional Boduberu performances, showcasing Maldivian hospitality.
According to MACL, the event symbolized the strong partnership between Austrian Airlines and VIA, built over three decades of continuous service.
VIA noted that Austrian Airlines’ operations to the Maldives over the past 30 years have strengthened tourism and deepened ties between the Maldives and Austria.
