Velana International Airport (VIA) has marked the 30th anniversary of Austrian Airlines operating flights to the Maldives.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said gifts were presented to 324 passengers departing on an Austrian Airlines flight yesterday. A further 328 passengers arriving in the Maldives were welcomed at the new terminal with traditional Boduberu performances.
MACL said the event reflects the close and long standing relationship between Austrian Airlines and the Maldives.
The airline’s three decades of continuous service have contributed to the growth of Maldivian tourism and strengthened ties between the Maldives and Austria.
