One Battle After Another has dominated the 2026 Academy Awards, winning six Oscars including Best Picture.
It also secured Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson and Best Adapted Screenplay.
Sinners was another major winner. The film earned Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler and a historic win in the cinematography category.
The ceremony also featured several pointed political moments on stage. Host Conan O’Brien, presenter Javier Bardem and others used their time to deliver political remarks. The In Memoriam segment paid tribute to Rob Reiner and other film figures who died over the past year.
Elsewhere, Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for her role in Hamnet, completing a sweep of the major awards this season. Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor, marking his third Oscar, but did not attend the ceremony.
