Rome has bid farewell to legendary fashion designer Valentino Garavani, as celebrities and leaders of the global fashion industry gathered to pay their final respects. Garavani died at the age of 93.
The funeral was held at the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, following a two-day public viewing at the Valentino Foundation. Fashion figures Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, and Anna Wintour attended the service, alongside actress Anne Hathaway.
Most mourners wore black, while others chose Valentino red in tribute to the designer’s signature color. Fans also gathered outside the church to honor Garavani, widely known as the “Last Emperor of Fashion,” whose creations defined haute couture and dressed royalty and red carpets around the world.
