Sadio Mane has fired Senegal into the Africa Cup of Nations final with a late 1–0 win over Egypt.
Mohamed Salah watched in disbelief as the final whistle ended Egypt’s title hopes in Tangier. Senegal grabbed the winner 12 minutes from time when Mane smashed in a powerful strike.
The semi-final stayed dull for long spells. Both sides struggled to create chances. But Mane made the difference when it mattered most.
Egypt came into the tournament chasing their first AFCON title since 2010. Instead, they suffered another painful loss to their old rivals.
It was another cruel night for Salah against Mane. The Senegal star had already beaten Egypt in the 2021 AFCON final and knocked them out of World Cup qualifying in 2022.
Now Mane moves on to another final. Salah leaves again with heartbreak.
