Police have arrested the leaders of one of Addu City’s largest drug trafficking networks under Operation Alimagu.
Officers made the arrests on December 3, 2025. Police launched the investigation in March, targeting the network’s leaders for drug trafficking and money laundering.
Authorities say the group has operated since 2017. More than MVR 19 million moved through the accounts of the network’s top four members over the past five years.
The operation remains active. Police say further updates will be released as the investigation progresses.
