The Milandhoo Airport Development Project has officially begun, setting the stage for improved connectivity and economic growth in Shaviyani Atoll.
The land reclamation and airport development agreement was signed by Minister of Finance and Development Planning Moosa Zameer and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. The project aims to boost connectivity and economic growth in Shaviyani Atoll.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu also attended the groundbreaking ceremonies for the Milandhoo Hospital and the new Islamic Centre. Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister Zameer, and the Milandhoo Council President joined the events.
He inaugurated the new futsal pitch and volleyball court alongside Minister of Sports Abdulla Rafiu.
Additionally, the President officiated the start of the Milandhoo Police Station construction. Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan, Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau, and Fenaka Corporation’s Managing Director took part in the event.
Each initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and community well being across the atolls.
