Development work has begun at Sh. Funadhoo Airport to enable night time flight operations before the end of December.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu attended the ceremony marking the start of the upgrade.
The announcement was made by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. shareef said the key upgrade will allow flights to land at night. He added that a passenger lounge, restaurants, and a luggage belt will also be built.
Finance Minister Moosa Zameer, MACL officials, cabinet members, and Funadhoo Council representatives attended the event. The project aims to boost connectivity and support development in Shaviyani Atoll.
