The Maldives government has recieved a large shipment of aggregate on October 10, 2025, to fuel national infrastructure projects.
The shipment includes 56,450 tons of aggregate designated for MTCC-implemented PSIP projects. The first consignment will be used for the harbor development project in B. Eydhafushi. The government plans to import a total of 2.5 million tons before year’s end to complete outstanding contracts.
President Dr. Muizzu Mohamed announced the arrival to show progress on pledges. He aims to accelerate development on every island and deliver promised changes. MTCC, established in 1980, has built much of the Maldives’ infrastructure over the past 44 years.
Officials say the steady flow of shipments will unlock faster project delivery. They expect significant improvements to people’s livelihoods as roads, harbors, and public works advance.
