The Government of Maldives has welcomed the decision by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to formally recognize the State of Palestine.
In a statement, Maldives described the move as a significant development in the pursuit of peace and stability in the region. It highlighted that the recognition reflects a growing international consensus on the urgent need to ensure peace, security, and dignity for the Palestinian people.
Maldives also called on nations that have not yet recognized Palestine to support the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for an independent and sovereign state.
