Mohamed Mujtaz has been confirmed as President of the Civil Service Commission, while former CSC President Mohamed Nasih has been elected as Vice President.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu submitted the nominations during a special sitting of Parliament earlier in the day. After review, the Independent Institutions Committee unanimously endorsed both names.
In the afternoon vote;
- Mohamed Mujtaz was confirmed as President of the Civil Service Commission with 68 votes
- Mohamed Nasih was approved as Vice President with 64 votes in favor and one against.
Both Mujtaz and Nasih were appointed as members of the Civil Service Commission on September 7 before stepping into the top leadership roles.
The Civil Service Commission is responsible for managing the largest workforce in the Maldives. Its leadership plays a vital role in implementing government policies and ensuring accountability across state institutions. The appointments come at a time when the government has pledged reforms to improve efficiency in the public sector.
