An agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Sports and Fitness and MACL to build a multi-sports complex in Hdh. Nolhivaram.
The signing ceremony for this agreement was held during a special ceremony conducted on the island today. The agreement for this project was signed on behalf of MACL by the company’s CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. On behalf of the Ministry of Sports and Fitness, the agreement was signed by Minister Abdullah Rafiu. It should be noted that the foundation stone for the sports complex was also laid following the signing ceremony for this project agreement. The foundation stone was laid by Minister of Sports and Fitness Abdullah Rafiu, MACL CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, Nolhivaram constituency member Mohamed Rasheed, and Nolhivaram Council Vice President Mohamed Hussein at a ceremony held in the area designated for building this complex.
Establishing fitness and recreation centers in all inhabited islands of the Maldives by the end of 2026 is one of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s presidential pledges.
