Maldives football icons Ali Ashfaq (Dhagandey), Ali Fasir (Sentey) and celebrated coach Ali Suzain have joined New Radiant Sports Club on three-year contracts.
The signings were announced last night at a ceremony held at the Dhimyaath Stay conference room.
New Radiant, once a dominant force in Maldivian football, is set to return to the Dhivehi Premier League after Super United Sports (SUS) withdrew from the competition, citing financial constraints. The club’s participation will be confirmed once the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) executive committee grants approval.
In addition to Ashfaq, Fasir and Suzain, New Radiant secured four key players; Mohamed Nizam (PK) and Ahnaf Rasheed (Ahukko), both former SUS players, along with Mohamed Irufan (Irey), Maziya’s captain for the past two seasons, and Hassan Raif Ahmed (Hanna), who has played for the club for the past two years.
Nizam, Ahnaf, Irufan and Raif signed one-year contracts.
