Maldives Zakat House has opened 30 scholarship opportunities for higher education in Islamic fields.
The scholarships are open for Maldivian students pursuing Master’s and PhD programmes in the Maldives and abroad. Ten opportunities are allocated for local study, while 20 are available for overseas study.
The fields include Islamic Sharia, Quranic studies, fiqh, Islamic journalism, leadership, education, research and publishing. Local study options include IUM, MNU, Villa College, Avid College and Zikura College, while overseas options include universities in Egypt, Malaysia, Brunei and Pakistan.
Zakat House also introduced special schemes, including scholarships to train female doctors in women’s health and support for students already studying in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Applicants must be Maldivians above 18 and enrolled in an MQA-approved full-time course. Applications are open until 2:00 p.m. on July 16.
