MWSC Chairman Shamhooza Ahmed has been dismissed from her post.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board confirmed that Shamhooza was removed from the Board of Directors of Male’ Water and Sewerage Company. He had served as Chairman since December 2019.
Officials did not disclose the exact reason for his dismissal. However, the government has recently introduced several changes to the management of state owned enterprises as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve productivity.
The administration has also seen changes in the leadership of other state-owned companies in recent months, including MWSC, MIFCO and MPL.
