Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has launched a ‘Port Community Blood Donation Camp’ to help ease shortages faced by Maldives Blood Services (MBS).
The camp runs from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and is open to MPL staff, Malé Commercial Harbour employees and the public. The event is held in collaboration with MBS, Malé City Group of Hospitals and LAY App.
MPL said many donors have already participated as blood stocks remain low and public appeals continue.
Donors must be over 18 years old and weigh more than 45 kilograms. MBS advises at least six hours of sleep and a meal one hour before donating.
Those unable to attend can donate at the MBS blood bank in Orange Hiyaa, Hulhumalé Phase 1, daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., except Fridays.
