First Lady Sajida Mohamed has emphasized that women are the backbone of every community and must be treated with full dignity and respect.
Speaking as the guest of honor at the Rehendhi Awards 2024 – 2025, the First Lady said Islam grants women a high and honored status, and stressed that no injustice is placed upon anyone for being a woman.
She highlighted mothers as every individual’s first teacher and strongest supporter, noting their sacrifices and the role they play in shaping citizens who contribute to the nation.
The First Lady also pointed out that women continue to progress in various fields while carrying significant family responsibilities.
The Rehendhi Award honors women who make outstanding contributions to national development, community building, and the advancement of women in the Maldives.
