Kurendhoo Harbour Development Project Commences

The ceremony took place on Lh. Kurendhoo Island. President Muizzu attended as Chief Guest. Minister of Construction, Housing, and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, officially launched the physical commencement of the project. MTCC Managing Director (Retd) DCP Ahmed Saudee and senior officials from the company were also present. They highlighted the project’s role in improving local maritime infrastructure. The development includes 36,363 cubic meters of maintenance dredging, a 63-meter revetment, a 415-meter breakwater, and two reinforced concrete jetties measuring 243 meters by 2 meters and 60 meters by 2 meters. The total estimated cost is MVR 53.36 million (corporatemaldives.com ). The project aims to boost connectivity, enhance harbour safety, and support economic activities on Lh. Kurendhoo.
