MTCC has completed 100% of the quay wall capping concrete for Segment 1 of the Boduthakurufaanu North Side Road Development Project, a key milestone in the ongoing effort to upgrade one of Malé’s busiest routes.
The project is progressing rapidly. MTCC has cast the stormwater pump station well, with installation works now underway. Carriageway subgrade works have also begun, and drainage component delivery and setup will commence this week.
Once completed, the upgraded road will feature wider lanes, pedestrian-friendly walkways, and a modern stormwater drainage system to reduce flooding during heavy rains.
Officials say the project will strengthen Malé’s infrastructure, improve traffic flow, and enhance urban resilience, bringing residents a safer, smoother, and more modern commuting experience.
