The Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has announced revised waste disposal timings for households in the Greater Malé’ Region during the month of Ramadan.
Under the new schedule, waste will be collected in Malé from 8:30pm to 2:00am. In Hulhumalé, collection will take place from 9:00pm to 2:30am, while households in Villingili will receive the service from 9:00pm to 1:00am.
WAMCO has urged residents to place waste out before the scheduled collection times, warning that delays may affect service delivery. The company also stressed the importance of not dumping waste on streets during the holy month.
According to the Islamic calendar, Ramadan begins on February 17.
